Sammlung der Universitaet Wien I (Vienna 1997).
contents: life and work of Felix von Luschan and Eugen Oberhummer by H. Wolf;
26 vases from the EC to CA periods by L. Dollhofer;
14 terracottas mainly from the CA period by K. Schaller
review from Paul Åström in: Journal of Prehistoric Religion
1112, 1998, p. 90:
"Nicely printed on glossy paper this is an excellent catalogue of Cypriote
vases and terracottas in the archaeological collection of the University of
Vienna. It is not so often one finds such thorough and careful descriptions,
comments and observations as in this catalogue written by Lotte Dollhofer
and Kurt Schaller. The collection comprises Bronze and Iron Age pottery and
terracottas as well as two Syro-Palestinian so called "Astarte"
figurines and a particularly interesting male Cypro-Archaic terracotta with
punctured decoration on the head and neck. The book also contains informative
biographies by Harald Wolf of two Austrian scholars, Felix von Luschan, the
excavator of Çinçirli, and Eugen Oberhummer, both donors of objects to the
collection. The latter's geographical work on the island of Cyprus which appeared
in 1903 is still useful."

Gueterproduktion im Umfeld kultischer Einrichtungen, in: E. Specht (Ed.),
Alltaegliches Altertum (Frankfurt/Main - Berlin etc. 1998)

für Friedrich Brein (CD-Rom, Vienna 2000). Forum Archaeologiae Zeitschrift
für klassische Archaeologie 14/III/2000 (http://farch.tsx.org).
contents: The so-called Vounous-Model, often quoted
as "evidence" for "early BA sacral architecture and cult practice",
is once more discussed in this article. The most important interpretations
are presented and checked for their relevance. The authors come to the conclusion,
that the complexity of the representation speaks against a too realistic view
of the model. Following newer interpretations which stress its allegorical
character the Vounous-Model is understood as an arranged composition of single
scenes that represent a wide spectrum of symbolic aspects.

Koerperzeichen, in: F. Blakolmer (Ed.), Oesterreichische Forschungen
zur Aegaeischen Bronzezeit. Kongress 2.3. Mai 1998 (in press).
contents: The author proposes a methodological framework
for the interpretation of bodily marks found on archaeological objects from
the BA Aegean and from Cyprus.
K. Schaller, Zu den Koerperzeichen auf einem bronzezeitlichen Terrakottakopf
in Boston, Forum Archaeologiae Zeitschrift für klassische Archaeologie
3/V/1997 (http://farch.tsx.org).
contents: The article refers to a Mycenaean rhyton in form of a human
head with bodily marks in Boston (published by E. Vermeule in RDAC 1988, 299f.)
and points out parallels to a 1st M Cypriot terracotta in the Vienna University
Collection.
