UNIVERSITY COLLEGE LONDON
A small number of full studentships (c. £12,000) are available for
taught
graduate courses at The Institute of Archaeology (UCL) for outstanding
students who might otherwise be unable to meet the expense of full-time
study. The eligible programmes are the MA in Managing Archaeological Sites,
MA in Artefact Studies, MSc in the Technology and Analysis of Archaeological
Materials, and MSc in the Palaeoecology of Human Societies, for study
starting October 2001. The closing date for applications is Friday 31
August 2001.

PURPOSE: To support research in all branches of anthropology DEADLINE: 11/01/98,
05/01/99
SUMMARY: Grants for amounts up to $20,000 are available for basic research
in all branches of anthropology. Grants are made to seed innovative approaches
and ideas, to cover specific expenses or phases of a project, and/or to encourage
aid from other funding agencies. The Foundation particularly invites projects
employing comparative perspectives or integrating two or more subfields of
anthropology. A small number of awards is available for projects designed
to develop resources for anthropological research and scholarly exchange.
The Foundation, under its Small Grants Program, offers Regular Grants and
Predoctoral Grants.
Regular Grants are awarded to individual scholars holding the doctorate or
equivalent qualification in anthropology or a related discipline. Qualified
scholars are eligible without regard to nationality or institutional affiliation.
Application for Regular Grants may be made by the scholar either as an individual
or on behalf of an organization.
Doctoral candidates seeking postdoctoral support should file a Predoctoral
application; if an award is approved it will be made after

Awarded triennially to a student participating in the Brock University archaeological
practicum based on academic merit, financial need and service in the promotion
of archeology within the University and wider community.
