I am Assistant Director of the Semitic Museum, the museum of ancient Near
Eastern archaeology at Harvard University.
My own and my museum's particular interest in Cyprus is primarily for the
sake of its Near Eastern connections. The Museum acquired in 1995 a portion
of the Cesnola Collection in a trade with the Stanford University Art Museum,
built an exhibit around it in 1997 and are now publishing
the material on the web
My own research has focused on Phoenicians, east and west, and I have done
field work in North Africa and on Cyprus as well as in the mainland Levant.
